Just under two weeks ago, I attended a local blogger event at Supercuts here in Derby.
I had never been to a Supercuts before and I have only been to two or three blogger events before so I was a tad nervy.
There were only five local bloggers invited so it was very exclusive and not as nerve-wracking as I had thought it would be.
I was the first to arrive at the salon and I was greeted by the very lovely Natasha who was the Regional Business Manager for Supercuts.
There were also stylists pottering around, finishing off people’s haircuts and sweeping up.
After the other bloggers arrived and the salon cleared of customers – we were offered a glass of bubbles or fizzy orange along with some snacks.
I opted for a glass of Prosecco because, well, why not?
The Salon Manager, Sarah, took my over to a big comfy chair, sat me down and spoke to me about what I wanted doing with my hair.
There were a few options, a style, a cut, a treatment…
I chose to have a cut and style because my hair needed a good trim – not too much though because I am trying to grow it out.
She took my over to the washing area and wrapped a fluffy towel around my neck.
Because the salon isn’t overly big, there were only two sinks but it didn’t stop the hosts treating us like royalty!
Sarah used a purple toner on my hair to get rid of any unwanted brassiness and OH MY it smelled so so good – my hair smelled amazing for days after!
After having my hair washed and treated, it was time for the cut…
I asked Sarah if she could thin my hair out too as I have far too much and it gets so heavy.
Nothing seemed too much trouble for her and she was happy to accommodate.
After cutting away, she used Kerastase Nectar Thermique Milk for heat protection and to keep my hair feeling smooth.
What I like about this product is that it smelled delicious and I really felt the difference with the product in my hair.
Sarah emphasised that was an all in one product that does everything for your hair and it was from a high end, luxury brand which made me feel pretty impressed that she was using it on my hair.
The salon stocks a huge range of Kerastase products (which I might have to invest in soon) alongside it’s sister brand, Redken.
Sarah spoke about the brands whilst working her magic on my hair and she has convinced me to now use good quality shampoo and not just buy whatever is on offer in Wilko.
I want to try the Bed Head range and some of the Coco Loco Lee Stafford goodies.
After around 45 minutes to an hour, Sarah was done with my locks and here is the finished product…
How gorgeous does my hair look?!
The purple toner really brought out the lighter tones and the style made me feel like a 50’s pin up girl and I felt glam as hell!
Sarah used some GHD‘s from the Platinum range which are on my christmas list now after the amazing job they did on my hair…
They are also available to buy at the salon too.
After admiring myself in the mirror for about 10 minutes, I chatted to Imogen from Penchants & Prejudice for a while about each other’s blogs, what we do for a living and other things.
We gave each other tips and it’s just one of the reasons I love events like this – meeting people who can understand what you’re doing and why.
As soon as the other bloggers were finished with their hair makeovers, we all sat and chatted about the event and why they were doing it.
This was to promote the #SquadGoals competition all over the country for one lucky winner to go to London and have a huge makeover and a photoshoot with friends.
How awesome does that sound? I’d certainly love to win it.
We also took lots of selfies which can be found on my social media at @jayleeallsopp on Twitter and Instagram.
Also, as they didn’t have the chance to set up goodie bags for the day, we got some posted out to us which I received the other day.
The products I got were the Bed Head Volume Finishing Spray and the Volume Boosting Foam which I haven’t had the chance to try yet but I am excited to!
I just want to thank Supercuts for the amazing experience and for teaching me to use good quality shampoo.
The bloggers involved were Becki from Becki Explorer blog, Gem from The Gem Agenda and Imogen from Penchants & Prejudice.
