Thursday night marked night number two of the series I am running with Intu Derby called Twilight Thursdays.
This week has been all about wrapping and picking up the last few presents for my family and what better way to do it than through the click & collect service?
When I got paid a few weeks ago, I went mad Christmas shopping and tried to get it all done in a day. Unfortunately, it didn’t work too well and I realised I was left with a few missing things.
Thankfully, a bundle of shops within the Intu centre offer a click and collect service where you can order online and usually pick up your items within a few days.
I did this with a few things including some perfume for my mum from Boots, some cookbooks for my nan from The Works and a few bits for Kane from Argos.
It’s so handy, especially when you don’t want to spend hours in town after work or the shop doesn’t actually have it in stock.
One of the things I do love about Christmas shopping is the festive tunes playing in the shops, the decorations and the Christmas specials in the restaurants and coffee shops.
There’s nothing like stopping off for a beverage during your shopping and that’s exactly what I did with my mum and sister.
We popped in to Costa for a sit down (we were pretty tired) and a pick me up, just because their specials are heavenly this time of year.
I chose an Orange Hot Chocolate complete with cream, marshmallows, TWO flakes and edible sparkly stars on top. It was the perfect thing for something sweet yet slightly spiced and warming.
My sister had a Mint Hot Chocolate and my mum a Flat White, her favourite.
We also shared some snacks for a bite to eat before going home and having our tea.
My sister had a Mince Tart and I had a Chocolate Yule Log Muffin which had a gooey chocolate centre… *heart eyes emoji*.
After our pit stop, we popped to Sainsbury’s to pick up a few essentials where I found a Kopparberg set I had been looking around for weeks for! I also picked up a few bits to cook when I got home.
I got some Sainsbury’s own brand Lincolnshire sausages which were delicious, some ready made cheese mash and I picked up a multipack of beans which all cost me £6. Not bad for a night’s tea!
Although the centre was crazy busy for a Thursday night, I managed to get quite a few things done and I only have the odd few things to pick up next week now which is such a relief!
Not only are there things for the adults to do, there are also a few things for the kiddies to do with a huge snow pit upstairs and a play pen on the lower level.
Personally, I love the snowy trees, they’re my favourite kind!
