Galentine’s Day with Intu Victoria Centre

You may have heard of Valentine’s before but have you ever heard of Galentine’s? Well needless to say I hadn’t before this February.

It’s a time to celebrate love with your gal pals and time for pampering and self love.

I was 100% down for this when the Intu Victoria Centre ladies invited me to brunch and a makeover. Exciting right?

Brunch kicked off at Caffe Rizzoli in the top level in the Intu Victoria Centre not far from the Clocktower dining quarter.

There were 10 of us bloggers in total accompanied by two of the lovely ladies from the Intu team. Once we were seated we were offered a drink and I chose an Espresso Martini, one of my favourites.

It was perfect accompanied by brunch as it had that caffeine kick and only slightly alcoholic (oops).

Once everyone had arrived, the wonderful owner of Rizzoli, Jeremy, made us feel totally welcome and told us we could choose any meal from the extensive menu.

As it was still morning to me, I chose a brunch dish but others chose salads, bruschetta and even antipasti dishes.

I opted for the Scrambled Egg on Toast with Crispy Bacon which was cooked to perfection. The eggs were soft and buttery, the toast warm and the bacon was just to my taste.

Once we had finished our dishes, we were informed that we could also choose a dessert dish which was music to my ears.

I chose the Chocolate Fondant and a Limoncello Prosecco cocktail to accompany.

The drink was perfectly sweet and had a kick of lemon, just how I like.

The dessert was warm and gooey, perfectly paired with creamy vanilla gelato which there was a good helping of.

Struggling to polish off my dessert, I only ended up leaving a smidge of gelato which, by the way, was to die for.

Before leaving our table, we received gifts from the Intu team as it was Galentine’s.

Clad in the most gorgeous paper and brown string was this Skinny Dip holographic dream. The purse has a silver leathery feel with a multi-coloured sheen which I just LOVE – the reverse side is also stitched with a black palm tree print, perfect for summer.

The girls also handed out these shiny plushie stickers for our initials which are so cute! I’m just not sure where to pop mine just yet.

We all then headed over to the House of Fraser beauty counters to meet the team there.

We were handed a glass of Prosecco each (cranberry juice for the drivers) and were told where we could have our complimentary makeovers done.

I chose the Urban Decay counter as I have wanted to try so many of their products without making the commitment to buy so many.

After watching three of the girls get their different Urban Decay looks, I was so excited to get mine done and see what magic the lovely artist, Ashleigh, could do with my face.

After browsing round the stands for a while, I’ve picked a few products I want to try including the Naked Smoky palette, a few of the Vice lipsticks and their Naked concealer.

I asked Ashleigh if she could try some of the All-Nighter Foundation on my skin as I have heard so many mixed reviews and I wanted to see for myself what I thought.

Unfortunately, they didn’t have any left in the lightest shade for me to try so instead, she made me up with the Naked Skin foundation, the Naked concealer (amazing btw), the De Slick powder, Flush Palette and the Defence Complexion primer.

Here’s the finished look and I couldn’t be happier, my skin looked super smooth and all of my blemishes were fully covered.

She also contoured my face and added the prettiest highlighter to my look which I just loved. I’ve tried to contour my face before and I never seem to get it quite right.

After my lovely skin makeover, I had a wander over to the Clarins counter where I asked about the best products for oily and spot prone skin.

The lady kindly gave me a few different samples of products to try which should help my skin.

Once I had finished in House of Fraser, I said goodbye to everyone and made my way home.

We were also gifted with lovely goodie bags from House of Fraser.

I can’t wait to try out the Benefit They’re Real Liner and Mascara!

Thank you so much Intu, House of Fraser, Skinny Dip and of course Caffe Rizzoli for treating us all like royalty and making us feel a million dollars. It’s definitely the best Sunday I have had in a long time!
