If you know anything about the fashion world, you’ll know that it’s all about fashion at the moment with awards season, fashion weeks and all the spring/summer lines being released.
Nottingham has taken it upon itself to go ahead and get involved in the festivities by creating it’s very own fashion catwalk show which takes places on the 24th and 25th of March at the Council House in the Old Market Square, right in the city centre.
You can check out the website here for any info you might need and you can even claim free tickets to watch the catwalks!
I was kindly invited by Gemini PR & Marketing to attend the fashion week preview last week in the most classy and elegant setting, The Beauty Temple on Queen Street.
I decided to wear one of my new favourite dresses which my bestie found in a Charity shop for £2!
I thought this dress would be perfect because it’s bright, comfy and I just love the bell sleeve look at the moment.
Upon entry, I found some of my favourite bloggers mooting around near the entrance and quickly ran over before I got lost.
We were handed the most glitzy looking cocktail named the Glitterbomb which was a concoction of Prosecco, Vodka and shed load of edible glitter!
The delicious cocktail very aptly matched my nails too!
Once we’d had a wander round and nibbled on some incredible pizza provided by new kid on the block MOD Pizza, it was time to be let loose with the photo board and props!
Taking photos is nothing new to us bloggers but people actually taking pictures of us? That’s a new one for me!
I really love attending events and seeing so many familiar faces, it really does make events that much more enjoyable and such a laugh.
I also love meeting bloggers I’ve not met before and networking with them, we’re all one big loving community.
We were then asked to take a seat as it was time to showcase some of the looks that would be flaunted in the coming weeks at the catwalk shows.
There are three different shows on offer which will be shown twice each day including Campus to Club (targeting the student market), Desk to Dinner (for the office workers), and Style Classics (for the older generation).
The three shows will also feature a range of looks including Check Mate, Spring Bling, Back To The Fuschia, Statement Sportwear, Twisted Tailoring and Born In The 80’s.
One look I particularly loved was this Narciso Jumpsuit from Gigi Bottega, £260.
I love the bold 80’s vibe and bright colours, especially paired with big hair and a pink lip. I think I was worn in the wrong era…
Another look which I think I can get on board with is the Statement Sportswear as worn by the lovely Jamie right here.
Her tee and layered jumpsuit are both from French Connection paired with some simple silver pumps.
Ryan’s wearing the Spring Bling look with pieces from Pretty Green on Victoria Street.
I love the sports vibe that doesn’t look cheap or uncomfortable, it’s stylish and practical.
Once the fashion show had finished up, we were treated to another cocktail and had the chance to have a good catch up and eat some more of that wonderful MOD Pizza.
Once it hit 9pm, I had to run off to catch my bus so I said my farewells and was gifted a goodie bag on the way out.
The contents were pretty cool and even contained a free pizza voucher which is my kind of treat!
I’m also looking forward to trying out the MORE Nottingham card which gets you some amazing discounts at a huge range of both independent and chains in and around Nottingham.
I just want to say thanks to Gemini PR & Marketing, The Beauty Temple, MOD Pizza, It’s In Nottingham and all the lovely brands who contributed to the goodie bags us bloggers received.
I had such a fun night and I can’t wait to see the rest of the looks at the fashion shows at the end of March!
