My July Favourites

So it’s FINALLY August which is one of the best months of the year for me because… IT’S MY BIRTHDAY MONTH. And it’s usually the end of summer which I just love; the leaves are starting to crisp, the nights are getting shorter and there’s more of a breeze in the air

With another month past, I thought it was about time I wrote up my monthly favourites post so here we are today, I finally rounded up July’s favourite bits and pieces.

July was a busy month for me with going on holiday, going to several events and getting a promotion WAHOO!

Going abroad meant me buying a shed load of new beauty products and toiletries to take with me and I fell in love with a good few along the way with buying some bits in Spain too!

The first thing I want to rave about is the Soap & Glory Fruitigo Body Spray, recommended by Kane’s sister. It has an (obvious) fruity scent but it’s not too sweet or overpowering like a lot of fruity sprays. I also like that it’s a mist and not an aerosol as I find it lasts much longer on the skin and clothes. It’s a lovely summery scent which will just remind me of Spain now as I wore it all holiday rather than perfume.

I’ve been ADORING the Garnier Anti-Blemish Clarifying Tonic for looking after my skin this month. I recently discovered it on offer in Asda and enjoyed the idea of Salicylic Acid in a toner to really combat those nasty spots. Spoiler alert: it actually works! No word of a lie, my skin has cleared up massively these past few weeks and this is one of the things to thank.

One of the lip products that I’ve been digging is the PS Metallic Matte Lip Crayon just simply because of it’s shimmery finish. It adds more dimension and if you’re feeling sassy then it’s perfect! I also love the reddy/pinky colour which isn’t too dark at all. I think this will transition perfectly into Autumn too with a darker lip liner underneath.

The Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion was a very quick and very easy love. I bought this in Duty Free for only £12! Which is such a fab bargain and I’ve been dying to try it out. My eyeshadow creases like crazy during the day and this has literally changed the game for me. My shadow no longer creases and my eyeliner has tended to last longer too which is a win win. I can see this quickly becoming an absolute staple in my make up bag.

Next up is the plain and simple Daiquiri Bath & Shower Cream which smells like all things tropical. I love cocktails and I love a good body wash so this was a no brainer for me; oh and it was only 79p too which is just ridic. It leaves your skin silky soft and smelling like a tropical paradise. If I close my eyes in the shower, I ALMOST believe I’m in the Caribbean…

The Home Inspiration Cherry Vanilla Yankee Candle Jar was a lucky spot in the supermarket for only £6! It’s literally my favourite Yankee scent and I’ve been burning it nearly every day, hence the significant decrease in wax level. It’s a sweet, comforting scent and perfect for summer, it smells like an ice pop!

The Profusion Highlighter Palette is something I bought over in Majorca and I have not been disappointed with the G.L.O.W these powders offer. There are five powders with a mini applicator brush and I’ve been using the Light Pink and White Pearl shades as they blend well into my pale cheeks. The glow is buildable but with a few swipes you can reflect even the dimmest of lights. One of the best purchases in a while, I think.

Biore have been on my watch list for a while, especially the Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser which recently went on offer in Superdrug so I finally picked up one. Despite reading mixed reviews about this, I took a chance and I do not regret it at all! This is the other half to thank for my skin seriously clearing up. Although this is called a cleanser, it’s advised to be used as a face wash (is this a common thing? I’ve never noticed) and it has teeny microbeads in which melt into the skin. The only downside of this is that it leaves black patches staining the sink BOO.

Last but definitely not least is the Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kit in the Blowout shade. The lip kit includes both a lip liner and a liquid lipstick and both of which are insanely long lasting. I can pop this on at 8am and it still be sort of visible at 5pm when I get home. The colour is a mid-pink with liner and quite nude without. One thing I will say is that when applied, the lipstick looks quite light but it does dry down darker than you think. I think this formula is fab and not drying at all which is one of my biggest pet peeves with liquid lippie.

So there you have it, my pretty hefty favourites from the whole month of July. I’m sure August’s list will be even bigger due to presents and shopping and so on.

I hoped you liked this post. What have you been loving recently?
