Long time no speak, lovelies.
It’s been a hectic summer but I thought I’d come back with a bang, talking about what I do best – finding bargains!
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that TK Maxx is one of those places where you can never leave empty handed. You’ll either leave with 10 candles, some discounted designer shoes or a Mascara which should have cost £32 but you found it for £6.99.
For me, it’s all of those things and more…
But I wanted to go through some of the heavily slashed, high end goodies I’ve found in the haven that is TK Maxx.
After reading Rachael’s post about her finds in TK Maxx in September, I thought it’d be well worth writing a post too as I’ve found some pretty cool beauty bits over the past two months.
I’m going to start off with Lip Products and there are three which I’ve found – all high end brands which I usually would never ever spend money on.
This Urban Decay baby was a pretty lucky find… When having a browse in the Chesterfield branch, there was one or two bits that caught my eye but then the lovely lady that worked there came over with a basket full of new additions and she started stocking up the make up tray.
Before they’d even left her hands, I saw this UD Gwen Stefani Lipstick in the shade Firebird (£9.99 TK Maxx price) and an UD Gwen Stefani Lip Liner in the shade 714 (£6.99 TK Maxx price). They were meant to be £20 RRP each which meant a saving of £23.02.
A few weeks prior when shopping at Giltbrook Retail Park in Nottingham, I popped in to have a nosy and spotted a Mac Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colour in the shade High Drama (£9.99 TK Maxx price) which is drop dead gorge for Autumn.
Top to bottom – UD Gwen Stefani Lip Liner in 714, Mac Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colour in High Drama and UD Gwen Stefani Lipstick in Firebird.
The Mac lippy was one of two I found in that shop but the other was a bullet lipstick which was a bright orange shade and I’m sure it was an Ariana Grande collab too. Although, orange really isn’t my colour so I left that for another lucky soul to pick up. With the £18 RRP, I made a saving of £8.01.
Another absolute steal I found in the Giltbrook shop was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Aurora Glow Palette (£19.99 TK Maxx price). I was absolutely stunned to see anything Anastasia in there and they only had two, both wired up in security boxes.
With the highlighter palette at a price of £41 RRP, I saved a massive £21.01 which could have bought me another palette! They also had a Anastasia Subculture palette but I was not sold on that after seeing a good few negative reviews of it when it was first released.
Rewind back to the Chesterfield story and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette (£19.99 TK Maxx Price) makes an appearance. Next to the make up tray, there was a shelf full of palettes which I had previous routed through and found nothing exciting.
My mum (praise the Lord) was like: “She’s just popped this down, is it any good?” and passed me the contour palette. I did a little squeal, saw it was in light to medium and placed it very carefully in my pull along trolley (OK I nearly threw it in but whatever).
Retailing for £42 RRP, I saved £22.01 which again, is more than half.
Now last but certainly not least, is the Cover FX Cream Contour Kit (£4.99 TK Maxx Price) in Light-Medium.
I had previously spotted this in the Derby City Centre shop in the Deep shade but I couldn’t justify buying it as it would be far too dark for my pale skin.
After looking every other day (yes I am a make up freak), they finally stocked ONE Light-Medium palette and I snapped it up in a heart beat.
With the wonder retailing for £40 RRP, I managed to save myself £35.01 which is just absurd.
Overall, these six products should have cost me £181 RRP when in fact I actually got them all for £71.94.
If you’re wondering how I find these things, the secret is have patience; don’t be afraid to root through every little piece of make up, look on shelves where other things are stocked like the perfumes and hairbrushes – you will find things!
I’ve previously found Zoella lifestyle and beauty products from last season and Nip and Fab can be found in there at just fractions of the full price.
The high end stock might be last season’s but who cares for those prices?!
Thanks for reading and thanks to Rachael for inspiring this post.
Have you found any bargains in TK Maxx? I’d love to know what!
These were all such fab finds! I’d have snatched the Urban Decay stuff straight out of her hands!
Ahh man you found the Subculture palette – I really wanted to try it (at TK Maxx’s price!) but I can’t find it anywhere!
