Styling Patterns for Spring with Femme Luxe

Spring is a season I always struggle to dress for because in the morning it can be 1°C and you need a hat and scarf and then in the afternoon it can be 18°C and you need sandals and sunglasses.

Since switching up my style last year, I’ve noticed that my wardrobe is now chocka with lots of patterns so I thought what better way to do a ‘lil how to on styling them than with one of my fave clothing sites, Femme Luxe.

I’ve picked three looks including casual, smart and badass – make of that what you will…

Badass

So this is a look I always try and aim for but sometimes, you just get a little bit of a special one.

The Brown Leopard Print Satin Bodycon Mini Dress* is one that I just needed in my life after seeing it on the model.

I’ve layered the satin number with a cropped black tee underneath to add a teeny bit of coverage and the denim jacket is one I pinched from my boyfriend’s wardrobe.

I think I was feeling a little bit brave with bare legs but on warmer days, it’d be fine. I think you could dress this outfit up too with some heeled boots or down with some Converse but I decided to go for the middle ground with my Dr Martens.

Smart

Relatively smart clothes are something I always keep my eye out for to wear to work and when I can tie in my personal style with something a bit more smart, I’m always a happy girl.

The Black Animal Crocodile Print Cigarette Trousers* are subtle but still have that alternative edge that I quite like. I also really like the way these feel when I’ve got them on; they hug my hips quite nicely and cinch me in at the waist which I looooove.

I’ve styled them with a simple grey long sleeved body and my favourite checked longline coat – sometimes I think clashing patterns really works.

Another way you could wear these trousers is with a white or coloured lace bodysuit and heels for a night out or cocktails with the gals.

Casual

Laidback, casual clothes are probably my most worn things in my wardrobe just because I like to be comfy.

I’ve paired together the Black Faux Leather Strappy Wrap Crop Top* with some faithful Grey Checkered High Waisted Slim Leg Trousers*.

I own a good few pairs of checked trousers so these were a welcomed addition to my collection. They’re figure hugging but comfy which is not the easiest combo to find.

You could definitely dress these up too with a bodysuit or a blazer top & heels.

The leather-esque crop top is again, something you could style up or down. I’d wear this layered over a band tee, under a tied up checked shirt or just on it’s own.

One of the things I really like about this top is that it holds the girls in – I don’t even have to wear a bra! It supports them and you don’t even need to worry about popping out which is every girl’s dream.

Items that I can make work for a variety of different occasions are a big tick in the box for me.

*These items were gifted in exchange for a blog post but my opinions, words and photos are all my own.
